Sonia Mezzour graduated from renowned business schools and has solid experience in the banking sector in Switzerland. She is fluent in five languages, enabling her to achieve objectives in diverse environments.
After 4 years of banking experience with UBS in Switzerland, she founded JSP Housing in Morocco, a real estate management business. From 2010 to 2011 she worked as Advisor to the Cabinet at the Ministry of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment of Morocco. She was responsible for analyzing and monitoring the technical and financial records of companies in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency. In March 2011, Sonia Mezzour joined the National Agency for the Development of Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency (ADEREE) as Secretary General, a position she still holds today.
Under her leadership, ADEREE built partnerships with public and private sector institutions, as well as with the largest NGOs at national, regional and international levels. Additionally, it increased its net profit by 36% while at the same time decreasing its debt. ADEREE has received numerous international awards. Its territorial strategy was recognized among the top 100 African innovations for sustainable development in the "African Innovation Forum on Sustainable Development", organized by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in partnership with French Development Agency.
